Liberdade Avenue begins at the Arcada. Its arches date back to 1715, commissioned by D. Rodrigo de Moura Teles; Café Vianna and Astória have stood here for more than a century, still serving breakfast at the same hours. From there, the avenue stretches wide and tree-lined down to the 1st of May Stadium. This residence is located between the two.
Living here means stepping outside and already being in the city. Rua do Souto, the Cathedral, Santa Bárbara Garden and Largo do Paço are all within a short walk, at the heart of Braga's historic centre. Your car is no longer what you use to leave home; it becomes simply the way to leave Braga.
Once a year, the avenue takes on a different role. Between 17 and 24 June, the São João festivities fill the lower part of the avenue with traditional stalls, and for eight days the entire city passes beneath these windows. Choosing Liberdade Avenue also means choosing this experience. It is best enjoyed from an upper floor rather than from the pavement.
